Why Pilates?

Incredible body results … Pilates is one of the few methods that can change a morphology. There are real changes on the arms, waist, abdominal belt, back muscles, and legs. The work in the elongation allows a musculature in length, the body is drawn during the sessions and transforms. The pilates musculature is very characteristic. Pilates allows you to do a physical activity regardless of age and health problem, the exercises are adapted to each and every problem.

Apart from the aesthetic results, the Pilates method allows feeling anchored and centered. The posture is more straight and more aligned. It develops an inexplicable inner force, whose seat (the powerhouse or center) irradiates the whole body. The pilates opens you the doors of something more subtle, unknowingly you open up and change your behavior. You become more aware of your body, your inner sensations, your feelings, and your emotions. By being more aware of you, you become more aware of others, of all that surrounds you. People, nature …. You respect yourself and you respect others and your environment. Everything is connected. Respect is the starting point of great change. This inner force that develops dissipates your doubts. You know what you want and made the choices based on what you know is right for you.

Pilates is a meditation. Far from all the thoughts that obsessed us constantly, during the sitting, there is only the moment. Concentration on movement, on breathing, on the inner sensation of this center of powerful energy which develops constantly and which is at the base of all movement. Concentrate, and just in sensation you get out of the brain intellect that analyzes everything and you just try to feel.
Control, listening, and attention are paramount for improvement.

What can I expect and how often do we measure progress?
We aim to show results in the first month, and the fundamentals will provide an opportunity for you to build
on a solid foundation. After every 10 classes, we check your progress.
I have never done Pilates before?
Pilates caters for various fitness levels, with exercises from fundamental through intermediate and culminating
in the advanced level.
What to bring to a Pilates class?
You will need to bring your own large towel. The studio provides equipment that is needed for the workout. You should have a water bottle available and make sure that you are well hydrated before you start.

When is payment due?
Payment is required to be made by the 7th of each month. Any missed sessions can be made up within 2 months. Classes are pre-booked, and cancellations need to be made 24 hours prior.
What are your rates?
Rates are based on 2 classes per week
R100 per class or R800 per month
Drop-in class R120 per session
Private sessions R150 per session
Are there strict hygiene policies in place?
We follow strict COVID safety standards that apply to fitness facilities including: mandatory masks at
all times, proper ventilation, sign-in forms for tracking purposes, temperature-check screenings at the door, multiple disinfecting of the facility and all equipment, and social distancing. All sessions will be conducted with attendees at least 2m apart in the studio and all teachers will be at least 3m apart when teaching clients.
What are the benefits of Pilates?
Pilates is for the fit and unfit who want to function at an optimal level, without pain. It is for people who seek balance in life and want to change their lives for the better. Pilates is for the young who want to look better and the young at heart who need a system that better suits their needs. The benefits of uninterrupted access to fresh air, full and efficient respiration and drinking plenty of water are principles that Joseph Pilates believed in.
What to wear to a pilates class?
There are a few things to consider when you dress for a Pilates workout. Firstly, make sure that your clothes give enough to let you move and stretch fully. Pilates is usually done barefoot, so no fancy footwear is needed. Socks may be kept on during classes.
